This is a sneak peak of our recent letterpress project: The city scape of Lake Merritt. We designed the cityscape and text layout in illustrator, then we sent our digital file to Logo Graphic for polymer plate. After 2-3 days, we got our plate back from Logo graphic then we’re started mixing the inks and start to roll our 8×12 C&P. Feels good to hear our 8×12 press moving again. But sometimes I do think my 8×12 C&P is pretty cranky…I have to work with her speed, her way otherwise she just stop moving. At first I had no clue what’s wrong with her, after several trials and errors I slowly figured it out the problems one by one, then she just worked like a charm.

Happy to hear and see our 8×12 C&P is working again…

The first color printed on paper…

This is our recent guestbook project we made for Melissa and Matt. Melissa sent us their artwork and we hand engrave for them.

Personalize letterpress printed on the front page, and emboss 4 floral corners.

Coptic Binding is suitable for guestbook, because it’s open flat.

Cannot believe just passed the new year celebration couple weeks ago, and our Chinese New year is already here…yes..next monday (Jan 23, 2012) is the first day of the Dragon year! It is believed that eating traditional food on Chinese New year brings prosperity and good luck for the new year. We made this deep fried sweet dumpling (Jak Yau Gok in Cantonese) to keep our culture tradition. It’s quite a long process of making, but it’s for our prosperity and luck for the dragon year, worth it! <smile>

Yay! These sweet dumplings are ready for deep fry!
Finally the rain has come…Miso probably was thinking ” Should I get my leg wet…?”

Time to take out the rain boot…
